Energy Challenge

By Christina Greenberg

I’ve been reflecting on what fuels my energy and what depletes it. This self-awareness is really important for maintaining balance and maximizing productivity. For me, nothing quite matches the energy I get from creating and facilitating our leadership programs. Program days are my absolute favourite – they fill my emotional bank account and leave me inspired. On the other side, business development for these programs drains my energy reserves rapidly.

Here is what has been working for me to keep my energy on days that I know are going to be a challenge:

  1. Focused Time: Instead of spending all day on it, I dedicate a few hours each morning to business development. This allows me to give it my full attention without overwhelming myself.
  2. Celebrating Milestones: Celebrating each program registration secured fuels me to keep pushing forward. It’s a great reminder of the impact of my work and motivates me to continue. Yes, that can include a quick dance in my kitchen!
  3. Mindful Reflection: Reflecting on my energy levels daily helps me adjust and plan accordingly. It’s a practice that allows me to maintain clarity and effectiveness in managing my tasks. On days when I didn’t sleep well, I might only spend 10 min on business development.

I’m curious to hear from you all: What gives you energy and what drains it?
